This past Saturday night, Emmylou Harris played an outdoor show less than a kilometre from my house. She was joined by Gordon Lightfoot, Daniel Lanois, Whitehorse, and several other great acts for the annual Green Belt Harvest Picnic. Not a bad way to close out the summer, methinks!

Summer just keeps getting better. I’m really looking forward to playing in Hamilton’s Gage Park bandshell this Sunday night as part of the Seven Sundays concert and film series! A barrage of food trucks will start serving up dinner at 6pm, I’ll be on at 7.30, and then Fantastic Mr Fox will be on the big screen at 9. Should be a great night in the park! Next week I’ll be hitting the road for some shows in Northern Ontario – nothing like a summer road trip! Dates and details are up on the CONCERTS page.

Belated happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canucks, and an early happy Independence Day to everyone to the south!

Summer’s been off to a great start with lots of fun at some recent outdoor shows at Manorun Organic Farm and ArkFest. Thanks to everyone who came out and sang along! Now it’s off to a cottage in a few days for a week of family time. I love all the seasons (especially snowball fights on hockey skates), but sometimes it seems like the white ones really can’t hold a candle to the green ones!

Very excited to be heading out on another tour of Eastern Canada starting June 5 – this time as a duo with Jennifer along on keys, harmonies, and moose watch! It’s been years since I’ve done a Canadian tour that didn’t involve snow and freezing rain, so I’m looking forward to this one. Fingers crossed.
