Colour Film will be back on the road soon, playing some intimate shows across Southern Ontario. With a small ensemble along, it should be just like the winter road trips in the family mini van from my childhood, only with fewer Timbits. Click CONCERTS for details.

Saturday February 11 – Talbot Street Church, London
Saturday February 18 – Mahtay Cafe, St Catharines
Thursday February 23 – Burdock, Toronto
Saturday February 25 – Pearl Company, Hamilton
Saturday March 4 – The Boathouse, Kitchener

We’ll be playing songs like this:

Soft rock mayhem.

November 11th, 2016

standing beneath the cenotaph at Halifax
i heard the bugles on Remembrance Day
for the girls who went the distance from Victoria
and the boys who went marching from Saint John
oh Canada
do we know the price they paid?
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day

if i shake the hand of every ancient soldier
if i wear a poppy and i bow my head
for the girls who were nurses from Regina
and the boys who bled their lives out for King George
oh Canada
am i worth the price they paid?
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day

i stood below the holy ground at Vimy
trying to walk in someone else’s shoes
oh would i go the distance that Good Friday
to bleed my sweet life out in the mud
so far from home?
oh Canada
do we know the price they paid?
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day
do i know the price you paid?
Remembrance Day
do i know the price you paid?

What a great tour! Tough to beat a summer road trip across Canada, especially when you’re used to winter road trips across Canada on previous tours.

Highlights include a black bear, two moose (well off the road), many bald eagles, and a large turtle safely crossing the highway.

Oh yeah – the shows were fun, too! Thanks to everyone who came out to listen and sing along! Even more than the scenery and wildlife, the best part of touring is getting to meet so many people in different places. Thank-you for the summer enrichment program!

After a beautiful few days in the mountains, I’m heading back east. I must say, Canada is one gorgeous, if enormous, country. What a land to live in. And the people aren’t too bad, either.

I’m looking forward to seeing a bit more of the country yet and playing a few more shows:

June 28 – The Capitol, Regina, SK
June 29 – Harbourfront Big Tent, Kenora, ON
June 30 – House Concert, Thunder Bay, ON
July 1 – Lakeview Hotel, Wawa, ON
