“Ain’t Coming Back” is out now! You can buy the single on Bandcamp or stream it on Spotify, Apple Music / iTunes, or any other streaming service. There’s also a video (see below) that expresses the soul of the song visually. Big thanks to Bill Van Dyk for that.

It’s been a journey through some medical adventures to get to this point, so I’m grateful and excited to be here. But I’m also aware that while music is important, there are plenty of world issues of greater gravity. So all proceeds from sales of this single will be donated to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). I cannot foresee all of their actions or positions, but I’m sure the money is better off with them than me.

“Ain’t Coming Back” is the first single from the forthcoming album Half An Hour. The album comes out on April 26, but it’s now available to pre-order on Bandcamp and pre-save on Spotify.

With the new single “Ain’t Coming Back” due out March 1, it’s time to lift the veil on the artwork. If you’d like, you can pre-order it on Bandcamp or pre-save it on Spotify.

The new album “Half An Hour” comes out in late April. Stay tuned for further veiled references.

Last year wasn’t the greatest for a few folks I know. Here’s hoping this one’s better. In that spirit, here’s a hopeful song by The Zombies, with the spotlight on the wonderful Kori Pop singing lead. Wanted to do this closer to the start of the year, but a suitably sunny day took a long time to come.

Speaking of taking a long time, there’s a new Colour Film album on the horizon. With Kori singing on every song – 10/10! First single “Ain’t Coming Back” comes out in a few weeks. Stay tuned.

Due to a series of unfortunate events, I’ve spent most of the past year with limited use of my right hand. It’s been a good opportunity to learn about frustration, patience, and gratitude. It could have been much worse. My left hand has also become a bit more dextrous. Click here for a video of me playing a song with some new left hand tricks.

But now that the right is reawakening, it seems like a good time to play a concert. There happens to be a beautiful reborn barn near my house just outside Hamilton, Ontario, so I’ll be playing there on Saturday December 9. Details and tickets via Eventbrite.

Neil Young’s album Harvest is pretty great. Since it turned 50 earlier this year, I thought it’d be fun to organize a live performance of the album and other Young songs with a house band and guest singers to raise money for The Bruce Trail Conservancy. Come out on the weekend: Saturday October 22 at The Westdale in Hamilton. Details and tickets via eventbrite.ca.

We Can Do Better

all those shoes
still as stones
stolen lives
names unknown
we can do better

someone’s aunt
sister or friend
always loved
never seen again
we can do better
we can do better

we gotta do better than what we’ve done
if this land is everyone’s
if we’re honest and come clean
we gotta be be better than who we’ve been
well I’m sorry for who we’ve been

all those shoes
can’t come home
but can they change
the way we’re going?
if we go together
if we go together
we can do better
